A dark brown from the renowned Horween tannery in Chicago. It will slowly scoff & change texture on it’s surface. It will not remain nice and shiny, that defeats the purpose of this wonderfuly crafted & tanned leather.

While it is stiff at first, this leather only gets nicer as it ages, which is the main reason people tend to look for the Horween CXL leather. It looks very clean and uniform, and has a slight pull-up effect where the leather changes colour depending where you apply pressure. This is due to the oils & waxes moving around the leather. As all three colours we currently stock, this leather is tough as nails. Horween leather is standard left unlined.
The colour is a deep brown, and as the oils move around, you will see it light up. This is considerably darker than our Antique Brown. Shown below with an ecru colour vintage stitch and raw cut sides.
A quote from Horween’s homepage:
“Made to this day with old world craftsmanship, modern Chromexcel carries on a long history of superior comfort and durability.”
